Our vision

St Agnes’ Catholic Parish has always been guided by the needs of our community, adapting to provide support where it’s needed most.

Our vision guides how we plan, respond, and serve. It shapes the decisions we make today and the investments we prioritise for the future, ensuring our work remains focused on people, dignity, and community need.

Our vision is brought to life through our Strategic and Pastoral Plans.

Strategic Plan 2022 – 2027

Our Strategic Plan is our roadmap for the future – setting our direction, ensuring sustainability, and guiding how we serve the community in the years ahead.

Pastoral Plan 2024 - 2027

Our Pastoral Plan guides how we bring our faith to life – through worship, pastoral care, outreach, formation, and community connection across all our ministries.

RESPONDING TO NEEDS

We continue to respond to emerging challenges in our community by developing services, spaces, and programs that provide care, dignity, and support.

St Agnes’ Catholic Parish

Domestic and family violence

In 2025, St Agnes’ Catholic Parish launched a life-saving phone donation program supporting people experiencing domestic and family violence. In partnership with DV Safe Phone, donated phones are refurbished and distributed to those in crisis. Staff training, delivered with Liberty Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Services, strengthened our response to disclosures.

Dementia care

St Agnes’ Catholic Parish officially opened Emmaus Village, New South Wales first dementia care facility to adopt the Hogeweyk model, in 2024. The Village provides a secure, homelike environment where residents live with dignity, independence, and community connection. More than a facility, it is a landmark in dementia care and a reflection of our commitment to compassionate, innovative support.

Flood recovery assistance

With floods once again impacting the region, damaging homes and disrupting lives, St Agnes’ Catholic Parish responded quickly, providing food, supplies, and practical support, working with local agencies to assist recovery. Support was possible through the St Agnes’ Foundation Crisis Appeal. The response reflected strong community resilience, generosity, and care in a time of need.

Rooftop solar program

Lourdes and St Agnes’ retirement villages are rolling out a structured rooftop solar program, improving sustainability and reducing energy costs for residents. The initiative, shaped by resident advocacy, delivers staged solar installations across villas, supporting environmental stewardship, energy resilience, and long-term asset planning while reducing reliance on the electricity grid.

St Agnes’ Catholic Parish

St Agnes’ Catholic Parish acknowledges the Birpai people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, work, and serve. We acknowledge their deep connection to this land, its waters, skies, and stories, nurtured with wisdom, care, and resilience for countless generations. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging and extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
