Celebrating Shrove Tuesday with our community

On Tuesday 17 February, the BBQ area of our Parish Administration Centre was filled with warmth, laughter, and the inviting aroma of freshly cooked pancakes as our community gathered to mark Shrove Tuesday.

Parishioners, staff, families, and members of our neighbouring St Thomas’ Anglican community came together to share in this much-loved tradition. Among the familiar faces were also new ones, reflecting the growing spirit of welcome and connection across our local faith communities.

Fr Paul was at the heart of the celebration, expertly cooking pancakes with care and good humour, ensuring no plate went without. Guests enjoyed their pancakes alongside a vibrant selection of fresh fruit, with the coffee van keeping everyone well supplied with their favourite morning brew.

The morning also reflected the spirit of shared ministry across our churches, with Rev. Dan Berris from St Thomas’ Anglican Church joining the celebrations and captured in one of the featured images – a reminder of the strong relationships that continue to grow across our community.

Beyond the food, the gathering offered something even more meaningful: connection. Conversations flowed easily, friendships were strengthened, and the simple act of sharing a meal created a genuine sense of hospitality and belonging.
