The Eucharist is the heart of our Catholic faith.

At the Last Supper, before his death and resurrection, Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples, leaving us the gift of his very Body and Blood.

Each time we gather at Mass, we enter into this great mystery — a memorial of his sacrifice, a sign of unity, and a pledge of eternal life.

The Eucharist is the third and final Sacrament of Initiation, following Baptism and Confirmation. On this special occasion, a person receives Holy Communion for the first time, becoming more deeply united with Christ and his Church.

Preparing for First Holy Communion

Children generally make their First Holy Communion around the ages of 9 to 10 (year 4), following a time of preparation and catechesis. Families are guided in this journey of faith, helping children grow in their understanding and reverence for this sacred sacrament.
