Five young adults, 59 students and13 staff members from St Joseph’s Regional College and MacKillop College, attended the four-day Ignite Conference in Brisbane on the 21-24 September.
Zac Parnell, Youth Coordinator at St Agnes’ Catholic Parish, who accompanied the group, describes Ignite as an Annual Catholic Youth Conference where young people get to experience the dynamism of the Catholic Church through explosive rallies, inspiring workshops and powerful sacraments.
“Everyone who attended had an amazing time. We had the opportunity to get to know everyone on a deeper level on the drive and debriefed about the powerful encounters we had while there,” Zac said.
One Year 9 Youth Ministry student from MacKillop College commented, “Ignite was an amazing opportunity for everyone and we gained a closer relationship with our faith. It was my first-year attending, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I have a better relationship with my friends and discovered more about my faith.”
The students attendance at the event was organsied by the Leaders of Evangelisation from both colleges, Shane Hyland (St Joseph’s Regional College) and Marg Gobius (MacKillop College).
