Jayden gains valuable experience through Lucid opportunity
Jayden Farrington, a Year 12 student at Newman Senior Technical College, is completing a traineeship in Information Technology with the St Agnes’ Catholic Parish.
In December last year, as part of his Parish traineeship, Jayden was given an opportunity to extend his skills and experience in digital media by working with Lucid Media during the filming of an Education Pathway video for the Parish.
With the support of Newman College, his Parish work supervisor, Geoff Baird (IT Coordinator Operations), Steve Bryant (Manager Community Engagement, Communications & Marketing), and the Parish Human Resources section it was arranged for Jayden to spend a week with Michelle McKenzie (McKenzie Concepts) and the Lucid Project team, filming around different locations in Port Macquarie, utilising a range of equipment including drones.
“It was a really great experience. I feel like I learnt things that I would never have learnt without this experience. The team was amazing to work with, and they happily answered any questions I had. Overall, it made me more passionate about the industry. I am excited to see the final product upon its release!” says Jayden.
Jayden is making the most of every opportunity to learn during his time at Newman College and the Parish. In addition to his Lucid experience, Jayden also competed at the WorldSkills Regional Competitions in November 2-22. He came first in his division and will head to Melbourne in August 2023 for the National finals.
We wish him continued success both for his career in Information Technology and in the WorldSkills National finals.
