Relics of St Carlo Acutis visiting St Agnes’ Catholic Parish

Special relics of St Carlo Acutis are set to arrive in Port Macquarie as part of a unique visit hosted by St Agnes’ Catholic Parish.

St Carlo Acutis is recognised as the first millennial saint and is remembered for his deep faith and use of technology to share stories of Eucharistic miracles from around the world.

The first-class relic visiting St Agnes’ Catholic Parish is a small section of Carlo’s pericardium, the membrane that surrounds and protects the heart, alongside an exhibition dedicated to his work and faith.

In Catholic tradition, relics are honoured as a meaningful connection to the life, faith and holiness of a saint. And this relic holds particular significance because of its close connection to the heart, a symbol associated with love, devotion and faith.

Visitors will have the opportunity to venerate the relic, attend Mass, listen to readings, pray the Rosary, and talk about the life and legacy of Carlo Acutis.

Carlo is also remembered for his charitable work and desire to help others, including helping those experiencing homelessness and hunger. He remained passionate about spreading the teachings of the Catholic Church until his death from leukaemia at the age of 15.

The exhibition will take place at St Agnes’ Catholic Parish Hall, with the first-class relic on display in the Church, on Thursday 9th July between 11.30am and 7pm.
