Youth United

Our youth services and ministries sit under the banner of ‘Youth United’.

Youth United Council

The Youth United Council, an advisory group that meets monthly, brings together Parish representatives serving in youth-related roles to ensure a co-ordinated approach to the provision of Youth Services in the Parish.

The objectives of the Youth United Council are to:

  • Promote youth engagement and empowerment in the Parish
  • Support youth leaders and the clergy in their ministry and outreach to young people
  • Develop and sustain a faith-based framework for the future of youth
  • Provide direction and coordination for youth projects and Youth United ventures in the parish
  • Maintain connection with our schools, Parish Pastoral and Finance Councils, and the Catholic Schools office.

The areas represented on the Council include: community outreach, schools and children’s liturgy, the clergy, youth ministry, marketing and communications and parish administration.

Youth Groups

Encounter
Encounter is a gathering of teens and young adults who meet on Sunday evenings between 6-8pm. Many participants attend the Sunday Youth Mass at 5pm, prior to youth group.

Encounter is a great opportunity for youth to socialise and explore their faith together. There is sometimes a small cost per persons towards a shared meal.

Youth United Coordinator

Vanessa Denham is the Youth United Coordinator. Her role is to accommodate the depth, breadth and diversity of our youth services and nurture a faith-filled connection with the Church.
