Elizabeth Pike named St Josephs Regional College’s 2018 student of the year
St Josephs Regional College captain Elizabeth Pike has topped off 13 years of school and hard work with a top graduate’s honour.
On Thursday, September 27, she was named the school’s year 12 Caltex Student of the Year after earning a swag of awards for her academic efforts.
Elizabeth was also bestowed the leadership award and academic excellence award. The trio of top honours now firmly establishes her passion to chase a career in social reform that will make a difference to others.
The first step in that journey will be a 12 month placement in Thailand at the Regents Pattaya International School.
She will help 1400 students at the school learn to swim, drawing on her five years’ experience on Hastings beaches with Wauchope-Bonny Hills Surf Club.
“I am just buzzing right now,” Elizabeth said. “It has been a lot of very hard work.”
Elizabeth has already been accepted into Macquarie University’s global leadership program. She hopes to study on her return to Australia at the end of 2019 in international relations, law or journalism.
