Real Schools provide thought-provoking day at MacKillop College
Last Monday, 24 February, MacKillop College staff participated in a Professional Learning day lead by Adam Voight from Real Schools. The day was focused around restorative practice to enhance positive relationships in the classroom such as enhanced learning and a contribution to individual wellbeing which are foundational to the core values of Catholic education.
Staff were enlightened with the sessions which were provided including incorporating learning circles into classroom design, importance of finding commonalities amoung our community and how the words and language we use influence the culture of the school. The workshop was thought provoking and staff felt that it would be something that the MacKillop students would benefit from into the future. The following day was spent in the classrooms with learning circles that helped put the learnings from the workshop the day before into action.
