Students gain hands on industry experience at Parish Admin
St Agnes’ Catholic Parish Administration Centre has welcomed 3 work placement students from Newman Senior Technical College for the final term of school for 2020. Matt Thompson, Michael Huff and Jason McManus.
Jason is completing his work placement with the ICT Team, Michael with Property Services and Matt in Finance and Business Services. The students have been mentored by staff from each of the teams with relevant tasks in order to gain valuable hands on knowledge and industry experience and to see how the Parish Administration Centre serves the whole Parish.
Students are timetabled to attend 1 day work placement per week and 1 block week as part of their elective VET training courses. All students have enjoyed their time to date and grateful for the experience, hoping it will provide them with new skills.
Previously, ex-students Bryanna Cowan, Frank Smith, Kelsey Petherick and Hamish Tubman have gained employment with Parish Administration since graduating from Newman Senior Technical College.
