Spirit of the Outback to become a reality for Chris

Chris has had this dream brewing for the past two years, ever since he was shown footage of the Outback Spectacular by a support worker at Bago Magic.

In May, Chris then spoke about his dream to visit Longreach in the short film “I Am” produced by Bago Magic for the Focus on Ability Short Film festival.

General Manager of Elders Real Estate, Robyn Gleeson, came across the film through her daughter and said what a wonderful group it was in our local community.

“It was such a wonderful film, I then saw Chris was the one of the participants and thought Elders could somehow help out to achieve his dream,” said Robyn.

Chris will embark on an eight-day train journey with a small group leaving from Brisbane on 4 September. It will be his first trip away on his own.

The journey will include visiting museums, the Three Sisters rock formation, and visiting the town of Winton. In total, the train ride will be around 24 hours long, ending in the town of Longreach.

“Thank you Elders Real Estate for the support you have given Chris to turn his dream into reality,” said Don Mackenzie, Manager of Community Services for Centacare, Port Macquarie and Kempsey.
