Feedback From Our Survey of Volunteers

As part of our Volunteer Renewal event held in May 2023, a short survey was conducted of volunteers and parishioners to gain feedback about their volunteering experiences and to help improve our service to them.

As a snapshot of our demographic, we currently have 243 people who volunteer, 71% female and 29% male. The majority are parishioners who help with our Pastoral and Liturgical ministries, and in the Pastoral Care Team at our St Agnes’ Care and Lifestyle residential care homes. There are also volunteers who work within our Child Care services, the Uniform Store, the Youth Hub, Village Transport and Governance.

After the uncertainty of the last couple of years with COVID restrictions and requirements, we are now seeing an increase in interest in people returning to volunteering as they look to take up new and existing activities, to reconnect with others and to serve their community. We are also excited to see a significant boost in young people volunteering as part of secondary and tertiary studies and who, by giving back, are finding it personally rewarding.

The Parish is grateful for the skills and experience that all our volunteers offer. Many have had long term careers or involvement across a wide range of industries and are keen to contribute to our community through their acquired knowledge and life experience.

How blessed we are to have such people at the service of our community!
