Induction begins for 60 new staff to be employed at Emmaus Village
With final fit outs for the twelve homes that make up Emmaus Village well underway, 60 new St Agnes’ Care & Lifestyle employees who will work there began their induction recently.
Working in many different roles at Emmaus Village, these employees are undertaking a wide-ranging induction including specialised learning around supporting those with dementia.
The first stage of their induction, held at the Youth and Community Hub in Horton Street, was a three week-long introduction to St Agnes’ Catholic Parish, our aged care services, administrative support and other services, as well as education relating to the new roles to be undertaken.
Fr Paul Gooley, Parish Priest, addressed the group sharing with them what our Parish is about and how its vision, mission and values link to the work they will be doing and to the people we serve.
Representatives from various Parish teams, such as WHS, Learning & Development, Payroll, Pastoral & Spiritual Care, Communications and Client Relationship, also shared information with the group to help familiarise them with Parish processes.
While there is still a bit to be done before the first residents take up residence at Emmaus Village, this is an exciting step along the way to making it the best experience possible for them.
