New Learning spaces officially opened at St Joseph’s Primary School
New learning spaces at St Joseph’s Primary School support contemporary learning.
The new learning spaces were officially opened on July 4 after which Student Representative Council members and special guests guided parish priest Father Paul Gooley as he blessed the new learning spaces and extended playgrounds.
Eight classrooms have been extended to include break-out areas and wet areas and lead onto new outdoor learning and play spaces.
The playground improvements include more play areas and a sensory garden.
Acting principal Leisa Fisher said it was all part of making the school more contemporary and being a very welcoming, engaging and happy learning environment.
“It’s a result of trying to meet the needs of our 21st century learner to ensure our environment reflects the type of learning we know these kids need to prepare them for the future,” she said.
“We are very grateful, very happy and very excited about what the future will bring.”
The school is appreciative of the combined effort and support of the Catholic Schools Office at Lismore, St Agnes’ Parish and the St Joseph’s Primary P & F.
The new areas have been popular with students and staff.
People can see the new learning spaces for themselves during the school’s fair on August 5 from 10am to 1pm.
Money raised at the fair will go towards the finishing touches for the new areas.
