Newman College Set To Commence Building Upgrades Thanks To Parish And Grant Funding

Newman Senior Technical College is set to construct specialised learning spaces to replace current demountable accommodation thanks to a significant Parish funding contribution and a grant of $2,298,886 from the NSW Government’s Building Grants Assistance Scheme.

Newman Senior Technical College Principal Mark Nunan said the building project will deliver simulated work environments that will extend the learning experiences of its students.

“This project, along with the unique learning facilities already available at Newman College, will enable students to move from a simulated nursing ward or childcare centre into a modern learning environment all within the one centre,” Mr Nunan said.

The upgrade project will include construction of specialised learning spaces for early childhood and aged care services, construction of an electro technology workshop, two classrooms, an outdoor workshop and associated storage.

Progress is now underway towards a detailed design with the new learning spaces expected to be functioning mid next year.
