Nine Young Hearts Say Yes to Faith: A Journey of Learning, Laughter, and a Little Bit of Flooding

On Sunday 3 August 2025, our Parish celebrated something truly special — the full initiation of nine incredible young people into the Catholic Church after completing the Journey into the Catholic Faith for Teens program!

Over the course of 10 intensive sessions, these teens dove deep into the foundations of the Catholic faith — from sacraments and saints, to prayer, Scripture, and what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus in today’s world. The sessions weren’t just lectures — they were full of big questions, real conversations, and some seriously good snacks.

Of course, every great journey comes with its challenges — and this one came with floods. Literally. Halfway through, we had to hit pause and reschedule due to wild weather, but these young people showed resilience, commitment, and faith that carried them through to the very end.

Their journey culminated in a powerful and joyful celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation — Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion. Surrounded by family, friends, and a supportive parish community, these nine young Catholics said a courageous yes to a life of faith.

To the newly initiated: we are so proud of you. Your passion, curiosity, and openness have inspired us all. The Church is brighter with you in it. This is just the beginning — your journey of faith is only getting started!

Let’s keep praying for these amazing young people as they continue to walk with Christ.
