Over 500 delegates get inspired at Luminosity Youth Summit
Over 500 delegates attended the recent Luminosity Youth Summit held at the Port Macquarie Glasshouse on 25-26 July, gaining inspiration and insight from an outstanding program of motivational speakers.
Luminosity engages local youth (aged 15-25 years) through presentations by keynote speakers such as Layne Beachley and Andrew Morello, masterclasses and interactive workshops.
St Agnes’ Catholic Parish was proud to be a sponsor of the event and to showcase the programs and opportunities it offers youth in our region.
Three members of the Parish team – Rebecca Percival and Toni Durrant from Human Resources, and Zac Parnell, the Parish’s Youth Coordinator – staffed the St Agnes’ Catholic Parish sponsors’ information booth during the two-day event.
Armed with information about school-based traineeships and apprenticeships, vocational education through the John Henry Institute, Encounter Youth and Young Adults groups, the team chatted to visitors, fielded enquiries, and gave people the opportunity to enter a lucky draw to win a power bank.
“The feedback from the students was positive, they all seemed to enjoy the event,” said Rebecca.
The Parish also sponsored the attendance of 15 students from its secondary schools. As each sponsored student checked-in at the Parish booth, they received a complimentary gift bag to thank them for their participation.
