Painting of chapel the perfect gift to remind Sr Anne of her time at Emmaus
Sr Anne Hannigan RSM who recently stepped back from her position as Team Leader of the Pastoral and Spiritual Care team, was presented with a beautifully framed original painting of the St Teresa of Kolkata Chapel by Henry Field, Emmaus Village’s resident artist.
Fittingly, the presentation was made after staff and residents had gathered in the chapel for the Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion, which was ably led by Tony Worner, the Parish’s Leader of Formation, on Tuesday 16 September.
At the conclusion of the service, Justine Worner from the Pastoral and Spiritual Care Team, Colleen Banks the Residential Services Manager, and the artist himself, Henry Field, presented the gift to Sr Anne.
Justine and Colleen spoke warmly about Sr Anne’s 15-year contribution to pastoral and spiritual care in aged care at St Agnes’ Catholic Parish.
“It was through Sr Anne’s persistence, attention to detail and desire for excellence during the renovations at Emmaus, that we now enjoy this beautiful chapel and sacred space,” said Colleen.
Sr Anne was clearly delighted to receive such a unique and special gift from staff and residents as a reminder of her time at Emmaus.
Afterwards, Anne’s colleagues shared a meal with her in the Breaking Bread Cafe, where laughter abounded. Everyone present expressed their appreciation for Anne’s contribution and friendship.
