Parish sponsorship supports Luminosity Youth Summit
Fifteen secondary students, six from MacKillop College and nine from St Joseph’s Regional College, will have the opportunity to attend the Luminosity Youth Summit at the Glasshouse in Port Macquarie on 25-26 July as part of St Agnes’ Catholic Parish’s sponsorship of the event.
With the theme of ‘Purpose + Possibility’, the two-day program for this year’s Luminosity Youth Summit is packed with thought-provoking sessions and inspiring speakers such as former pro surfer and seven-time world champion, Layne Beachley.
Tahlia Danks, Manager Client Experience for St Agnes’ Catholic Parish, said the Parish is proud to sponsor the event which aims to foster creativity, excellence, entrepreneurship, purpose and wellbeing for young adults (aged 15-25 years) in the region.
“Creating opportunities for youth engagement is important to the Parish and is in the draft of our Pastoral Plan, which is currently being finalised, so it made sense to support the Luminosity Youth Summit through this sponsorship,” says Tahlia.
“It will be an exciting and uplifting experience for the students we have sponsored as they engage in workshops, presentations, masterclasses and interactive sessions and learn from high profile presenters and business leaders from across Australia.”
“The Parish already offers programs to support youth, such as school-based traineeships and apprenticeships, vocational education through the John Henry Institute and our Encounter Youth and Young Adults groups, but we are always open to new ways of empowering young people in our community,” she adds.
As part of its sponsorship, the Parish will host an information booth at the event so event delegates can ask questions and gather information about the programs the Parish offers.
