Parishioners hear first-hand about Catholic Mission Programs

For World Mission Sunday on 22 October the Parish hosted a special visit by Catholic Mission. Lou Wallace, Diocesan Director for Catholic Mission, spoke briefly at each Mass to thank parishioners for their past support and shared a video about this year’s appeal which focusses on supporting the work of the Salesian Sisters in Timor-Leste.

Bridget Barber from Catholic Mission’s Program Team gave an engaging talk in the Parish Hall after Mass about the work of Catholic Mission around the world. She spoke also about her personal experiences with people who have directly benefited from this work, particularly in Cambodia from where she recently returned after accompanying a school group on an immersion trip.

The parishioners who attended asked lots of great questions. The group is pictured with Bridget standing second from the right.

Thank you to Deb Ward in the Pastoral Office for coordinating the visit and organising morning tea.
