Shrove Tuesday Celebrations

On Tuesday 17 February, the BBQ area of our Parish Administration Centre was filled with warmth, laughter and the delicious aroma of freshly cooked pancakes as we gathered to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

Parishioners, staff, families and members of our neighbouring St Thomas’ Anglican community came together to share a tradition. It was heartening to see so many familiar faces, along with new ones.

Fr Paul took to the grill, cooking pancakes with care and good humour, ensuring no plate was left empty. Guests enjoyed their pancakes alongside a colourful selection of fresh fruit, while the coffee van kept everyone well supplied with their favourite morning brew.

Beyond the food, the morning was a reminder of what makes our parish community so special — connection, hospitality and the joy of gathering together. Conversations flowed easily, friendships were strengthened, and the simple act of sharing a meal created a space of genuine welcome.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a wonderful gathering before the start of the Lenten season the following day with Ash Wednesday.
