St Agnes’ Parish open Youth Hub for those affected by fires
St Agnes’ Parish Youth Hub is open over this weekend (16 & 17 November) for anyone affected by the bushfires.
Youth Hub Coordinator, Mick Gilmour, says the Youth Hub is offering its facilities for people to rest and recover.
“The Youth Hub has laundry and shower facilities available for the community. We have already had people make use of these facilities this week, so we are happy to continue to provide this service over the weekend.”
General Manager of St Agnes’ Parish Care and Community Services, Bronwyn Chalker, added that while the Youth Hub offers year-round support for local youth, it is perfectly designed for situations when the community is in need.
“Helping our community in times like this is exactly what the Youth Hub is designed for and it supports St Agnes’ Parish in delivering services to those in need.”
“I would encourage anyone who has been affected by the bushfires, including those fighting them, to drop in to the Youth Hub to take a break, clean up or just have some relaxing time with their families,” Ms Chalker said.
The Port Macquarie Youth Hub is centrally located at 140 Horton Street, Port Macquarie and will be open between 9am and 3pm on Saturday 16 November and Sunday 17 November.
