Attendees left inspired after International Women’s Day event

Parish employees attended the 13th Annual International Women’s Day breakfast at Westport Bowling Club hosted by the Hastings Women’s Business Network, on Wednesday 8 March.

The attendees heard inspirational talks from local employers, Just Better Care, Bennetts Steel, Men and Women at Work and the Commonwealth Bank on their innovative approaches to build a gender-equal future. Keynote speaker Natalie Isaacs, founder of 1 Million Women, shared her passion for action-based optimism, steps on how we can all be climate warriors and the key role that women play in making change a reality.

The event raised over $12,000 for Liberty Services who has a focus on supporting women and families affected by domestic and family violence and homelessness. Everyone left the event feeling inspired and motivated to make change for a better and more gender-equal future.
