Hair gone for a great cause!
Seven students at St Peter’s Primary School chopped their hair to raise money for kids with cancer.
“I cut my hair for cancer to help people in need of support when they are going through that kind of sickness” commented year six student, Ella Oliver.
Ruby Merrit (year six) added, “I cut my hair to help people with cancer to socialise, have hair and make life a little bit better. One of my friends I grew up with had cancer and died from it at a young age, so I did it for her as well”.
“I am shaving my head for people in need; for money and hair”, Peter Field explained.
“I shaved my head because it’s really hard for the families of people going through cancer, because it brings a lot of trauma to them. I just want to help in some way”, continued Jude Vasilescu.
Students have been busy raising money for this event over the past few weeks which culminated in the final chop over the weekend. The children have also been running a lolly jar guessing competition.
