Repairs underway to Church roof after storm

The storm in early February 2023 caused one of the crucifixes on the church steeple to break away from its mount which caused damage to roof of St Agnes’ church in Hay Street.

Last week Scaffolding was erected on the Horton Street facing part of the church (as shown in photo) to assist building contractors in the process of making the necessary repairs. While the scaffolding is in place access via the rear doors of the Church and the steps leading up to them is not accessible. Please avoid this area until it has been designated safe again.

The work is not expected to affect the celebration of Mass in the church.
